A Better Way to Deal with Your Most Valuable Asset - People
Coaches and athletes are constantly looking for a physical and mental edge. Performance Plus is a proven program that will get you there. Pat Summitt, head basketball coach of the 8-time National Champion University of Tennessee Lady Vols, has this to say about Bill Rodgers and his program:
"Performance Plus is a valuable tool that I use for our staff, players and program. It has allowed me to better understand individuals, their actions and how to better relate to them one-on-one. It has been especially beneficial to me in post-season competition during adverse and stressful situations. We have incorporated Performance Plus tools with our team in an effective way by helping them to better understand each other's actions and reactions. I believe in it! It has made a difference for us. Bill Rodgers is a good teacher and understands how the personality profile can relate, not only to the performance of an athlete, but to a work force. On many occasions, he has shared information that was very valuable to me and my staff. If you want a program on the cutting edge, this is one that will take you there."
Rodgers, the founder of Performance Plus, believes in a pro-active approach to performance enhancement. Coaches are interested in strategies, regarding their athletes, to employ that set them apart from all others. Rodgers works with coaches and athletes to give them a "real" understanding of the motivational needs that are unique to the individual athlete.
Athletes and coaches learn about themselves and communication improves. Summitt, who has worked with Rodgers since the 92-93 season, has compared communication to basketball's pick and roll play - effective exercises involving two people.
Rodgers believes that you cannot use generic "one-size-fits-all" motivation and expect to reach each person. Performance Plus is specific to the individual, and coaches and athletes agree that it works!
A former University of Tennessee women's basketball player was shooting around 30% from the field. Rodgers, through observation of the athlete, consulted with the coaching staff and an immediate turnaround occurred. This player finished the regular season shooting over 50% from the field.
Tiffiny Woosley, former standout with the University of Tennessee, after consultation pertaining to free throw shooting, set a school record of 39 in a row as a sophomore and broke her own record as a junior making 45 consecutive free throws. Woosley made pressure free throws down the stretch in several huge games for Tennessee to clinch victories for the Lady Vols.
Performance Plus transcends all sports and Rodgers has experience in basketball, crew, football, golf, hockey, rodeo, motorcross/supercross, swimming, tennis, soccer, and volleyball.
Rodgers believes that his role is to provide insight to the athletes and coaches that will provide higher performance and more wins. This is a must program for coaches and athletes interested in maximizing their performance.
